Great list… very cool feed displays… Personal favorite is the one on the copyblogger site.
Good research, I found only a few of the feeds actually ’stood out’ on the page. I have to completely disagree with a footer being a good place to display information other than the stuff you don’t want to show on the rest of the page like copyright, sitemap, and possibly legal docs and your physical address for search engines.
Good article, I moved all of my rss feeds to the top right of my blog, the same place on every page, and almost overnight the number of subscribers I was getting doubled!
